JFK Memorial School Courtyard

This small courtyard garden finished in April 2015 is a focal point as you enter the school, something welcoming, colourful and pleasing to the eye was required by the client.

This primary school courtyard is overlooked by offices, corridors and classrooms, it was important that this highly visible space be improved from the bare harsh and empty space it had once been, with little or no thought put into it. The scheme attempts to soften all of the strict architectural lines of the building with soft curves and gently mounded beds, the result is a space of warmth and character. The gravel and the planting is bright and colourful and it is in stark contrast to the way it once was, now a very lively space with a sculpture as its focal point.
