Sisters of Mercy, Limerick – 175 years Celebration Garden

Cemetery contemplative Space, for the Sisters of Mercy
St. Marys Convent, Limerick

This space for contemplation and relaxation was designed with a very low level of maintenance in mind. The scheme comprises of low stone walls, seating, plum slate mulch, stone and tarmac paths and container planting.

The main path leads to the primary feature of the garden, a sculpture (now renovated) inbuilt into the wall which represents the founding sister, Catherine McAuley with her fellow sisters entering the convent 175 years ago.

This project was project managed and coordinated by Cathal Quinn of Quinn Architects, Built by Lámh Eile Landscape Contractors.
