It was important that the overlooked area was brought up to date, but also re-designed in keeping with the surrounding buildings. A unique paving design was proposed for this small courtyard. It creates a linkage between neighbouring buildings. The design included gravel ares, planter boxes and also the removal of one tree was necessary to create space for the other trees to thrive. Creating a small planting bed under the trees added some character to the pavement of one of the main streets in Limerick.
